Your ceremony should be the highlight of your wedding day

I get it. Most people don't know what they want from their wedding ceremony, or even what's possible. Showing them is my favourite part of the job.

A great ceremony has gravitas and rhythm. It hold the room. You feel present, your guests do too, and by the end, they know the two of you a little better than they did when they arrived.

It can be funny and romanit, refined, unhurried, joyous and tender. If I do my job right, it's all those things at once.

PEACE OF MIND

You're in safe hands

I’m a full-time celebrant based in Conwy. Since 2021, I’ve had the privilege of leading over 250 weddings and funerals, each one crafted to be modern, meaningful and true to the people at its heart.

I’m a fully accredited celebrant with Humanists UK, one of the UK’s most respected organisations for inclusive, non-religious ceremonies. Since qualifying in 2021, I’ve led hundreds of ceremonies and continue to expand my skills through regular training and CPD.

I’m also accredited in pre-planning funerals and mentor and accredit new celebrants, helping them find their voice and confidence in the industry.

my values

What I Believe

I'm a Humanist celebrant by conviction and by accreditation, which means my work is non-religious and person-centered by principle.

I lead with compassion and curiosity, and I choose to see the good in people and in situations. Living ethically matters to me. I believe in equality, I believe trans rights are human rights, I stand against racism, and I support Palestinian freedom. I'm a fully paid-up member of the Green Party, and I'm pro–assisted dying.

I’m a proud LGBTQ+ ally and not just in June. I use queer-affirming, gender-affirming and gender-neutral language as standard, and I don't make assumptions about people, families or relationships.

I'm comfortable with complexity and nuance, and I've learned to hold space for it, whether that's an unconventional family, a complicated history, or a need to define things in your own terms.

how did I end up here?

The funeral that made me a celebrant

I trained as a celebrant after attending a funeral that didn't reflect the fascinating, complex person I knew. I left thinking I could have done a better job of celebrating their life.

That spark stayed with me, and when I finally took the leap into celebrant training with Humanists UK, I never looked back. I trained first in funerals in 2021, and then in weddings in 2022.

It was the best decision I could have made. I love getting to know my couples and families and being a safe and compassionate place for them. I love writing with warmth, humour and gravitas, and being there to lead your ceremony is the icing on the cake for me.

"Kate gave us the ceremony we wanted, then made it better than we had vision to imagine.

Emotional, personal and funny , we'll remember Kate for the rest of our lives together."
