An elopement isn’t just a micro wedding, it’s an entirely different experience

It’s about creating a day that feels deeply intimate, wildly romantic, and completely yours. There’s no guest list to juggle, no traditions to follow, and no rules to break. It’s just you, your love, and a ceremony as unique and unforgettable as the adventure you’re embarking on together.

I live and work in North Wales as a full time celebrant and I know loads of hidden gems that are perfect for an intimate elopement ceremony just for you.

I'm also lucky enough to know some exceptional local photographers who capture elopements exceptionally well, so we can plan your day as a dream team.

Snowdonia Mountain Elopements and Celebrant Ceremonies in North Wales

You can elope anywhere, but North Wales offers some of the most breathtaking backdrops imaginable. Mountain elopements in Snowdonia (Eryri), Ogwen Valley, Cwm Idwal, Tryfan and Pen yr Ole Wen are just some of the breathtaking locations you can choose in North Wales.

Gina & Paul held their commitment ceremony on Pen yr Ole Wen, overlooking Llyn Ogwen and Tryfan. Along with our photographer Babs, we were the only people on the mountain!

Handfasting in North Wales

Handfasting is an ancient Celtic wedding tradition that has deep roots here in Wales and across the British Isles. During the ritual, coloured cords or ribbons are wrapped and tied around your hands to symbolise your union – it’s where the phrase “tying the knot” comes from.

Couples often choose handfasting for their North Wales elopement because it connects beautifully to the landscape and heritage of this part of the world. Whether on a Snowdonia mountainside, beside a waterfall in the Ogwen Valley, or on the sands of Anglesey, the ritual adds a timeless and meaningful touch to a celebrant-led ceremony.

Beach Elopements in North Wales

North Wales is home to some of the most unspoilt coastlines in the UK, making it a dream setting for couples who want to swap tradition for sea views and salty air. The golden sands of Aberffraw on Anglesey are perfect for a quiet, intimate ceremony, while the Morfa Nefin offers sweeping coastal views and a uniquely picturesque backdrop. Further down the coast, the Llŷn Peninsula is dotted with hidden coves and wide beaches where you can step straight from the dunes onto the sand to say your vows.

Sally & Paul said their vows on Porthdinllaen beach, their favourite place, and somewhere they walk every day with their three dogs. Their wedding day was relaaxed, intimate and totally unique to them.

Beach elopements here give you the best of both worlds – the drama of North Wales scenery and the relaxed atmosphere of a ceremony shaped entirely around you.
