Why Inclusivity Matters in Weddings

Too many wedding traditions still assume every couple is a bride and groom. That language doesn’t reflect the reality of love today. I believe your wedding ceremony should feel like home – a safe, affirming space where you’re seen exactly as you are. As an LGBTQ+ inclusive celebrant, I’m committed to tearing up outdated rules and celebrating your story in a way that feels right for you.

I continually strive to improve my allyship, and to embody inclusivity, dedicating time to professional development to ensure I serve every couple with respect and understanding.

Saying vows filled with love on your wedding day

My Approach as an LGBTQ+ Friendly Celebrant

From the very first chat, I listen without assumptions. I’ll always ask your pronouns, I’ll use gender-neutral language as standard, and I’ll shape your ceremony so that it reflects your values, not someone else’s idea of what a wedding “should” be. My role is to hold space, guide you through the process, and bring warmth, humour and confidence on the day.

Humanist Ceremonies Celebrate Diversity

As a celebrant accredited by Humanists UK, I'm part of an organization which has been deeply involved in campaigning against discrimination – including LGBTQ+ discrimination, sexism, and racism – for decades, championing gay and lesbian weddings, before they were legally recognized.

Although it goes without saying that there's still a huge way to go before Trans and Non-Binary couples are treated fairly by the government in this regard.

I'm committed to active allyship, open dialogue, learning and difficult conversations in order for me to be the best celebrant I can for all of the weddings and funerals I deliver.

Inclusivity is for everyone

As a humanist celebrant, I believe in celebrating people for who they truly are. It’s what makes this work so special. I embrace diversity and welcome every story with warmth and curiosity. I’m not perfect, and I don’t have all the answers, but I’m always learning. My goal is to craft a ceremony that makes everyone feel seen, valued, and part of something truly meaningful.
